FAQs
What I Do
- Each stave is crafted in an original design that adheres to the natural form of the stave itself. It's the form and grain that reveals the beauty of the stave. Accessories should only enhance, not detract from this work of art.
- I use whole trees for each stave. Only a few are branches. Some of the smaller staves were cut from the main trunk.
- Due to the amount of customization, I work with you every step of the way to ensure it's as close as it can be to what you imagine. Based on experience, I can certainly give recommendations. Conversation and attention to detail is part of this process.
- Most of the staves are already stripped and sanded (and those get posted in the Ready to Craft section), but I have many ideas for projects in mind that I finish completely and post in the Ready to Adventure section. I can attempt to make similar ones based on what staves are available.
- I reserve the right to refuse or decline any commission request and/or any customization(s) for any reason, including (but not limited to) content that makes me uncomfortable, falls outside my artistic boundaries, or conflicts with my personal ethics/values/morals.
What I Do Not Do
- I do not create resin, foam, or fake staves. These are 100% real wood.
- I do not create staves from glued lumber to fashion a specific design.
- I avoid exact replicas. However, while each stave will be different, there can be similarities. i.e. I have no intention of copying Gandalf's wizard staff, but if it happens to look similar because that's the natural design of the stave, so be it.
- I do not create anything vulgar.
