A walking stave brings balance and steadfastness no matter where your path leads.
Whether you use it as a tool or view it as a work of art, the stave is a symbol to not give up and take heart.
The Beginning
In 2005, I found a stick while wandering through the mountains and thought it would be a really cool walking stave. That began a twenty-year journey that culminated in starting Aravandë.
Heavily influenced by Tolkien and a desire to reveal the elegance and beauty of nature, I hand-craft personalized walking staves to bring inspiration and hope those who need it.
The Craft
Each unique walking stave is hand-crafted in an original design that adheres to the natural form of the stave itself. While some may look similar, none are the exact same.
Each stave was formerly a whole tree; there is no resin creation nor glued lumber to make the designs. All add-ons are cosmetic.
I do not create replicas of existing staves from pop cultures - instead, I craft yours for your journey. Live your life, not someone else's.
The Process
Every stave can have some level of customization. Ready to Adventure have minimal additional options, and Ready to Craft have the most possibilities.
Initial price is based on the uniqueness of each stave: twists, curves, deformities, grain, etc. Customizations, such as stains, finishes, cirth runes, leather hand-wraps, leather pouches, embedded gemstones and/or other nature items will increase that price.
